Our approach to therapy
Depth-oriented: We offer no bandaid solutions or simplistic explanations. We help you discover and address the underlying factors behind symptoms, inviting you towards deeper healing.
Trauma-sensitive: We recognize the profound role that all types of trauma have on human development and functioning.
Attachment-based: We believe in the power of human connection and attachment throughout the lifespan—both in wounding and in healing.
Holistic: We honor the way you have been created as mind, heart, body and soul and seek to integrate all parts of you into therapy.
Culture sensitive: We recognize that culture is a multifaceted construct that deeply forms us and strive to take a humble posture before it.

Frequently Asked Questions

First and foremost, therapy is about a relationship. And while we cannot take the nervous feeling out of taking such an important and helpful step in your life (bravo!!), we can assure you that we are prepared for your arrival and understand what it is like to step into therapy for the first time. You will have the opportunity to talk about what is on your mind and heart about where your life is right now. Your therapist will ask you questions to get to know you better and you will have the opportunity to ask your therapist.
-
The first session is frequently the one that may produce both excitement and various levels of anxiety for people. Rest assured that your therapist will be there to help you take the first steps. A small portion of your first appointment will be dedicated to go over the intake paperwork and answer any questions you might have. But mostly, your therapist will create space for you to share what brings you into therapy. They will ask questions to better understand your life and you will begin, together, building a road toward healing.

The truth is that counseling is for anyone who feels stuck or needs healing in some area of life. Certainly this could include “crazy” people, but in reality it includes most of us at some point in our lives. If you are wondering if counseling could help you in your life right now, it probably could.

Therapy has helped untold numbers of individual lives for the better. We wholeheartedly believe it “works". The main thing to remember about therapy, however, is that it is not magic. It will take honesty and a willingness on your part to work. But when this is coupled with compassion, expertise, and support, transformational things can happen. Personal outcomes will always vary and will also depend on your frequency and duration of therapy.

Our staff at Mansio would be glad to discuss options that may best suit your situation including fees, duration, and frequency of therapy. Know that this is one of the best investments you will make in your life.
